Cassandra Walker – Sr. Recruiter, NYC-SHRM, NAAAHR, HR PANO
Cassandra has been a recruiting professional for 14 years after receiving her degree in Social Work from Stockton University. As a Certified Social Worker, she has always been committed to recruiting within the Social Services sector. For the past four years, Cassandra has led recruitment at Henry Street Settlement (a non-profit social services organization with 18 sites
located on the Lower East Side of Manhattan). She is passionate about Talent Development and collaborating with Henry Streets initiatives in Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (DEI) and leads the organizations Recruiting and Retention committee. Cassandra was recently a panelist for The Columbia School of Professional Studies Non-Profit Career Talk discussing hiring processes, trends, and challenges. She was interviewed by 89.5FM radio show “Thank God For Monday” to discuss “How to improve employee retention and reduce turnover through employee appreciation programs.” She is an active member the NYC Society of HR Management (SHRM), National Association of African Americans in HR (NAAAHR), and The Human Resources Professional Association of Non-Profit Organizations (HR PANO).
