Participants will better understand, use, and manage their own emotions in positive ways to relieve stress, communicate effectively, empathize with others, overcome challenges and defuse conflict. Participants will also learn how to differentiate between different emotions and categorize them appropriately, and to use emotional information to direct their thinking and behavior. Emotional intelligence is essential to both professional and personal success.

Who is Vivyen Ray?
Vivyen Ray, SHRM-SCP, has over 30 years of experience as a Human Resources executive at both the college level and in business where she has had responsibility for all Human Resources operations. In addition, Vivyen has taught graduate and undergraduate courses in Human Resources, Organizational Theory, Diversity, Management, Public Speaking and Interpersonal Communications. As a former leadership development consultant and executive coach, Vivyen’s clients have included ADP, Johnson and Johnson, GEO Specialty Chemicals, Essex County College, College of Mt. St. Vincent, Stryker Orthopedics and Dr. Reddy’s Pharmaceuticals. Vivyen is currently the Vice President of Human Resources and Labor Relations at the County College of Morris, Randolph, NJ. Vivyen is in ABD status for a Doctorate in Organizational Leadership at the University of Phoenix. She has an MS in Human Resource Education from Fordham University and a BS in Personnel Management with a concentration in Labor Relations from the University of Baltimore.
